2012: India shining?

It’s a new day, a New Year. There will be resolutions made, plans put on gear and much to look forward to.

But while speculations about the 2012 doomsday theory rages on across the world, why not take a look at what’s in store for India as a whole?

Renowned astrologer Dadhichi Toth predicts that India is poised to become a world power if it can handle its internal political processes. “The inequitable distribution of wealth betrays its spiritual heritage and this can be set right, it can become a leading light to the world at large. Some of the difficulties lay in its newly forming political associations and alliances with countries who are traditionally clever at playing one nation off on the other. They need to be careful to maintain their own autonomy and not kowtow to superpowers, who are on the downslide. India itself is the potential to be a great superpower in the coming years,” says Dadhichi. He also adds, “If and when some sort of anticorruption bill or measures are taken in the Parliament, we will see not just government but personal political interests and secrets tied in with corruption payments revealed in large measure. But then again this is government across the world, not just in India.”

Celebrity tarot card reader Munisha Khatwani says, “It looks to be a good year for India... it’s the year of mercury, so it’s a year of change. Mercury is an unpredictable planet and hence there will be some shocks as well as pleasant surprises. There’s a gravitational shift in the earth too. So although the financial market may see some ups and downs, overall the progress is going to be good.”

Numerologically too, this year is set to be a turning point for India. Scientific numerologist Vijay S Parrmar explains, “2012 is the 12th year of the 21st century producing number 5 of Mercury and number 3 of Jupiter. Vibration of India comes to number 3; it also favours number 6, which is India’s Destiny Number. So it’s a win-win situation.” He however adds that inflation may loom large.

“There will be a major shift in leadership, state wise and nation wise.”
