A special interview with the 'Tik Tok' singer, Kesha

Her name is synonymous with hiphop and electro music. While Tik Tok is still a party anthem, her latest album Warrior is a raging success with the song Die Young a massive hit already. Excerpts from an interview:

Your songs exude a ‘devil may care’ attitude...
That’s me. I am fearless and careless. I don’t pretend. I do what I like doing. I don’t like to worry about my future. I live in the present. To me worrying about future is like wasting your life, it’s all now. one needs to live now to the fullest. I believe that how we live today, defines tomorrow.

How much do you actively participate/invest in your videos?
When it comes to work I am into it. I don’t cheat with my music and with my fans. I work my butt off. Everything goes into everything, there is no time sense, you just got to do when you got to do it.

You have created so many party anthems, are you a party person?
I was born in a party, so yeah it runs in my blood. House parties are my favourite. I have house parties in my house at Nashville, it’s the best. You can do whatever you want, go crazy go ballistic and have a crazy time.

Will we see you deflecting from that genre?
Never know, I take things as they come, I was into meditation for a long time but I still wrote there. I wrote there all the time and it was good and different. This album is exactly that — little different and new.

Does songwriting come easy?
It comes naturally to me. My Warrior song is about my encounter with a supernatural and I am not faking it. I am very honest about things I believe in.

Who is your musical inspiration?
It has to be Iggy Pop. He is a legend. My elder brother introduced me to Iggy’s band the Stooges.

Are you aware of Indian artists?
I read some books on India and heard that Indian music is very spiritual and so are the people.
