How do you interpret style?
Very badly I’m told. In the wrong language and with horrible subtitles. I think if you are comfortable in what you are wearing, then you will be infinitely more stylish if you take it off.

Fashion to you is ...
Greek. I wear what the stylists tell me to. I like the idea of a wardrobe looking wrong, but being carried off because the person has confidence.

Your vanity case has ...
I don’t know but I am going to by an 8 foot by 8 foot vanity case and try and fit a really vain person inside. Just so the name makes sense.

A grooming/beauty elixir you can’t live without...
I don’t use any fancy products, I don’t use cream, my khoobsoorti ka raaz is Aloe Vera gel. You can drink it, medicate with it, put it on your face and wash your car with it.

How often do you upgrade your closet? Do you go to designers?
I like well tailored suits as I wear them for Stand Up…so I get about nine new suits a year. Nothing like watching a great suit length become a finely tailored  suit. I love hats. I own about 60 and am addicted to Hats.com.

Do you follow trends or like to break rules with your own take on them?
I’m the most mismatched person you will ever see. My hats don’t match my clothes, which don’t match my shoes, which don’t match my socks, which don’t match my complexion.

How do you put together an ensemble?
I open up my cupboard, take a 17 foot run up and dive head first into it. Whatever I come out wearing is what I wear for the day. Just the other day I wore 17 belts and a scarf…nothing else. On the bright side, I felt quite ventilated.

Which city or cities according to you are the fashion capitals of the world and why?
I’ve always liked how people dress in London. Great overcoats, good suits, nice hats. I’m old fashioned like that — hooded cloaks, magic wands, Gryffindor sweater.

Which decade in the fashion history appeals to you the most?
I like the 40s because I love hats and suits and everybody looked like a gangster in those days. I am not a fan of the 90s…jeans are supposed to keep your legs warm not lower your sperm count.
