India won the ICC U19 World Cup for the fourth time on Saturday. The Boys in Blue beat Australia by 8 wickets to secure the title.
While it was the first big trophy for the young Indian cricketers, it also meant a first World Cup win for a veteran- Rahul Dravid.
"The Wall" was one the best cricketers to have played for India. However, he didn't win the World Cup during his playing days. India has crashed out of the 2007 World Cup in the first round under his captaincy. But now he has won a World Cup as coach of the under-19 team.
According to Twitter, it couldn't have happened to better man.
Rahul's former India teammate Virender Sehwag wrote, "a legend like him deserves to lay his hands on the WC."
Every Indian is delighted, all credit to Rahul Dravid for committing himself to these young kids ,and a legend like him deserves to lay his hands on the WC. Only Fitting. #INDvAUS

Chak De moment for Rahul Dravid. Lost 2007 WC badly as a captain, came back strong as a coach and now he has won us a World Cup. — R! (@WeirdlyProbable) February 3, 2018

For me the scene of the day is the entire bunch jumping behind Rahul Dravid while he is on air!! That’s some amount of space and freedom of expression in the young team! Kudos to Rahul for that. — Anirudh Chaudhry (@AnirudhChaudhry) February 3, 2018
