Indian film industry has seen a lot of film based on the lives of sportspersons in recent times. After Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mohammad Azharuddin, MC Mary Kom and Sachin Tendulkar, a movie will now be made on the real-life story of India's most successful female cricketer- Mithali Raj.
Noted critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh on Tuesday took to Twitter to confirm the news about a biopic on Indian women's cricket team captain. The rights of the upcoming flick have been acquired by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
"Viacom18 Motion Pictures acquires rights for the biopic of the Captain of Indian Women's Cricket team Mithali Raj," he posted on the microblogging website.

Mithali Raj told Mid-Day, "I am extremely happy on this association with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. I'm hoping that this movie inspires more people especially young girls to take up sports as a career."
Mithali is the first captain (men or women) to lead India to an ICC ODI World Cup final twice, 2005 and 2017 respectively. She is named amongst the greatest cricket players of all times.
