Olympics: India will surprise one and all in hockey

The critics have literally written them off. Even their coach expects a top six finish at best. But the Indian hockey team may surprise all with a stupendous performance at the Olympics.

Bharat Chetri, the Indian hockey captain was born in 1981, with similar planetary configurations to MS Dhoni. The power of revolutionary Uranus was required to break the shackles and bring back the cricket World Cup to India. Chetri has Uranus exalted and team also possesses strong horoscopes to bring glory to India.

Germany won the 2008 edition with almost the same squad and a repeat may be difficult. Jamie Dwyer, the Aussie captain, was the hero of the finals in 2004 Olympics. He may not be able to better that moment. Great Britain, South Africa and Argentina have strong squads, but not strong enough to win the gold. Pakistan, Korea and Belgium have very little chance of finishing in the top three.

The teams that have good chances at the medals are Spain, The Netherlands, Germany and India. India will do well as a unit, when it matters. While Chetri would be solid at goal, ace drag flicker Sandeep Singh will find form, Sardar Singh, Shivendra, SV Sunil, Raghunath, Ignace and others would make things happen. The Aussie coach Michael Nobbs himself would be surprised by the extraordinary surge of the Indians.

A top six finish for India is a definite possibility, top three very high chances. Top two? Cannot rule that out either! Whatever is the final ranking, the Indian hockey team would have made valiant efforts, fought bravely and made millions of Indian hearts glad and would be welcomed back home as heroes.
