Inner Truth: The Best Governance

Currently a buzzword in India, good governance appears to have different meanings for different people.  Governance is the way a city, company, country is controlled by those who run it. Most people consider governance to be the sole responsibility of those in power, but does an ordinary person have any role in good governance?

Yes! Proper governance of the self enables each of us to contribute towards the governance of our community, city and country.  It alerts us to think for ourselves without being unduly influenced by popular opinion; to question and reason rather than blindly, or fearfully, following the crowd.

How do we achieve that? “Man is properly self-governed only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker” said Mary Baker Eddy.  By turning for guidance to the Divine, who loves all equally, we can make right decisions based on clear thinking - decisions that contribute to individual and collective good and result in harmony of heart and mind, body and soul.

Such proper self-governance contributes to our individual wellbeing and helps to bring to light a healthier economy and higher standard of living for all.
