The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) is planning to put up the answer scripts of last year’s SSLC topper on its website. This will serve as reference for students who will be taking the SSLC exams in March 2010, especially those who are attempting to secure the top ranks.

“The idea is still in a discussion stage and it will be sometime before we arrive at a final decision,” said DS Rajanna, director, KSEEB.

This KSEEB had planned to do something similar even in 2008, but the plan never materialised. The board officials are very keen to make the plan a success this time year around. The process is expected to be completed after the supplementary exams results are declared.

According to the sources from the KSEEB, last year this idea was dropped as the toppers list was revised after the revaluation procedure. “After the revaluation process got over, it was discovered that  two students had the same marks and had topped the exam. There were some confusion, so we had to drop the idea of publishing the answer scripts on the website,” explained sources.

“Many students and parents have requested us to upload the topper’s answer scripts on the website. So we have decided to take up the matter seriously,” added Rajanna. “This system will guide students as to how to answer the questions and it will also help them improve the style of writing,” said Sandya Rai, a parent and a teacher.

The SSLC state topper of this year, Sanjana R, is also happy with the board’s decision. “It will help students and even I will get to how each of my answers were evaluated,” said Sanjana.
