Surat software firm launches portal to help students appearing for boards

To boost confidence of students giving the board exam, a special online exam portal has been developed by a Surat-based software company. The website has sample question papers of all subjects for class X and XII (science and commerce stream).

The online portal is based on the pattern adopted by the Gujarat board.

The portal named www.gshala.com is developed by Imaginations with help from Ahmedabad-based publication house C Jamnadas & Co. Through the website, students can give examinations online and know how well-prepared they are. A student can give online exams after registering with the portal. It has two question papers for each chapter of each subject.

"While answering papers, students get the feel of answering question papers during the board exam. Students are told their marks and also the mistakes they have made. gshala is available in Gujarati and English," Arpit Thakar, CEO of Imaginations, said.

According to Thakar the website took more than six months to create. To use gshala, students have to purchase a coupon worth Rs250. Coupon has validity of one academic year. For schools, gshala will be free.
