HSC result of Surat remained high in 2010, with 1,259 students making place in top 10,000. Girls outshined boys in the results.

Surat registers 86.26% result in GSEB results

GSEB declared results of class XII general stream on Thursday. Result in Surat city was 86.26%, while in Surat District it remained slightly low with 85.14%. Though the percentage was high, education fraternity was upset as only three students were able to get position in the state top ten list.

HSC result of Surat remained high in 2010, with 1,259 students making place in top 10,000. Girls outshined boys in the results, with two out of three students attaining position in state top ten, being girls. 93% girls who appeared into the board exams cleared it, while pass ratio of boys remained at 81%. In Surat topper’s list of 16, 12 are girls. 100% girls, who appeared from Nanpura Blind Centre in Surat cleared board exams.

Surat city's result remained at 86.26%, with highest being of Nanpura Blind Centre with 93.33%, while lowest being of Amroli at 80.43%. Result of Surat district remained at 85.14%. The number of schools, who have secured 100% results in the board exams too have increased in the city. Last year the number of schools was 21, which has increased to 36 in 2010.

Butani Chandresh from P P Savani topped Surat top ten list with 94.43% marks. Jinal Mehta of Bhulka-Bhavan School remained second with 94% and Nirvi Sheth third with 93.71%. This year, no English medium student was able to secure position in state merit list, as all three are from Gujarati medium.
