Add one more name to the state’s SSLC 2009 toppers’ list. Amoolya Lois, a student of VVS Pandit Nehru School, Mysore, moved to the top spot on Saturday after securing 618/625 marks, post revaluation of her papers. When the results were declared, Amoolya had got 611/625 marks.
Not satisfied with her score in second and third language, she applied for a revaluation, after which the marks in second language went from 93 to 98 and in third language, from 97 to 99. “I got a photocopy of my answer scripts and got them evaluated by my school teachers. Then, I decided to apply for re-valuation,” said Amoolya. “I want to request the teachers who evaluate papers to be more careful.”
Bangalore girl Sanjana R, who scored 617/625, was the original topper. But on Thursday, Aishwarya of Marimallappa School, beat Sanjana by one mark. Now, the state has two toppers. It won’t be a surprise if the list grows. In 2008, when the Karnataka Secondary Examination Evaluation Board (KSEEB) had announced the results, three toppers with 618/625 marks were named. By the time the revaluation process ended, the number had touched five.
