Scholarship exams easier

Students appearing for scholarship exams can heave a sigh of relief. They will get results within 30 days of the completion of the evaluation process, which will be more transparent.

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has revamped the middle school (Std IV) and high school (Std VII) scholarship examination pattern, vide a government resolution (GR) was issued by the state government on August 13.

“We want the process to be quicker and smoother. Since it is a state-level exam, it was time consuming to correct the papers from various districts. A new system — OMR (Optical Mark Reading) — has been put in place to reduce the time spent on paper corrections and also to eliminate human errors. The objective form of the paper will bring down subjective marking,” said an officer on special duty to the education minister.
