Rock band Avial sets pulse racing on MICA's campus

While day two of MICANVAS '11 featured yet another potpourri of events, the key attractions for many students remained the Amazing Race, a Formula One race car parked at the campus, class of graphology and of course, the Malayalam rock band, Avial's performance.

The Amazing Race helped set the tone for the second day of this annual brand management festival. Teams ran around the campus looking for specified hidden objects and clicked pictures of them. The qualifying teams then left for the city where they scurried through the hustle bustle of the city in order to pick up clues and complete tasks which would ultimately lead them to their destination.

The class of Graphology which was conducted by MICA student Dhreeteeman Das (26), kept the students' minds whirring. Das, who started graphology as a hobby five years back, is today a professional graphologist, and has trained employees of the likes of Oil India Ltd and Infosys in Mysore and Chennai.

"It was a hobby, but it slowly grew on me and with the help of books and continuous practice and study, I am now a professional graphologist. The workshops that I have conducted in the past have been of three months wherein I have had one-to-one sessions with people and they get back to me as and when they make changes in their writing and signature styles", Das explained.

"There is nothing you can hide from a graphologist. He or she is like a mirror once you read his/her handwriting. Since it is a form of expression for humans, it is here to stay despite technological advancements", Das concluded.

The attraction besides Mallu-band Avial was also a Force One race car stationed on campus. What a fantastic feeling standing next to it, passers by, professors, and students exclaimed. The race car set the pulse racing - as much as Avial's music.
