Pune kids present world on a platter

Students of Pimpri-based Gyan Ganga International School (GGIS) on Sunday organised an international fair themed ‘Around the world in 180 minutes’.

The students took the parents and guests into a world of dance and music by presenting the art forms from countries like India, Africa, the UK, Malaysia, Italy, France, China, Egypt, UAE and Australia.

They also portrayed the different cultures of these countries along with delicacies from the world over.

Actor Mohan Agashe, who was the chief guest at the event, in his address to the students, said, “One should practice what we speaks. There are very few people who actually practice this.

Parents especially need to follow this rule. This is because children learn from our actions, not by what we ask them to do.”
Director of the GGIS group, Sonu Gupta said, “Through the academic carnival this year, we wanted to convey that the world is truly inclusive and universal. By making our children work towards such a display of cultures from all over the world, we hope we have been successful in exposing their curious minds to the varied cultures that exist in India and across the globe.”

The GGIS is an international school under the aegis of Gyan Ganga Foundation (GGF), started by the Goel Ganga Group. The foundation, a non-profit establishment founded with the singular focus of giving back to society, to support eco-social activities, free education to the needy, especially the girl child; rehabilitation in slum areas; sports, arts & culture, welfare-aided programmes, and recreational arenas.

“The GGF is a social arm, completely bound by corporate responsibility to the citizens of our city, state and country,” said Atul Goel, managing director of Goel Ganga Group and head of the school management board.

The GGIS also boasts of distinguished and illustrious names from different walks of life on its advisory panel.
