Several aspirants who were unable get through the (CAT) for an entry in to the IIMs are now pinning their hopes on other entrance tests.

While students interested in pursuing the much coveted MBA this year have already appeared for several other entrance tests and are awaiting results, a couple of more tests are still there for them to try their luck.

The management aptitude test (MAT), paper-based test is scheduled for February 6 and the online testing will begin from February 11. Apart from CAT, all the B-schools in the country accept MAT scores. According to RK Srivastava, director of the SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul, CAT and MAT are the only test approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

“After CAT scores, we give importance to MAT,” said Srivastava. MAT is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) and more than five lakh candidates across the country appear for it.

Students from the city are also awaiting the state common entrance test (CET) results for admissions into management institutes in the state. CET is generally conducted in the month of February.

According students, city institutes like Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and K J Somaiya Management Institute are also much sought after.
The results for Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) test were declared on Tuesday, while NMAT, the entrance test for NMIMS is scheduled to be declared in the last week of January.
