Now a UGC approved degree for animation

SAE, a media education college through its Indian partner Access Atlantech Edutainment (I) (AAT) has launched a UGC approved full-time animation degree course. In the two year programme students will be taught art, media and digital film making which will include everything from scripting to post production activities.

"We realised that internationally there is emphasis on art which is useful for sketching characters, besides knowing the software to put them to life," said Rathish Babu, CEO, Access Atlantech Edutainment (I) Ltd.

SAE campuses in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi will conduct this programme.  A combination of industry professionals like cinematographer, photographers along with the inhouse faculty will teach the programme.

Students will be selected through an aptitude entrance test and have to be class XII pass outs and hold a diploma in animation. During the course students will also have to submit two group projects and one final assignment which will serve as a portfolio. At the end of the course students will be helped with placements both national and international ones.

"The final assignment will be posted on the SAE website and even screened at film festivals," said Babu.
