MSU student commits suicide

A college student was found dead in a bathroom of TK Gajjar hall in Vadodara on Monday. Santosh Prasad, 20, was found dead by one of the hostel students with a bottle of rat poison near the body. Santosh, was a third year Bcom student, at the faculty of Commerce at the MS University.

The students on finding the student lying in the bathroom, immediately called the 108 emergency service. The van however reached late, due to some miscommunication. Angry with the delay, the students stoned and caused damage to the ambulance.
Meanwhile another ambulance was called and Santosh was taken to SSG hospital where he was declared dead by the authorities.

Students also informed one of Santosh's relative Shatrughna, who is also a student in the University. When informed, police officials reached the spot and during investigations, they found an empty bottle of rat poison and poisonous powder. Talking to DNA, PSI RJ Pandor said, "The student was a resident of Veraval and we suspect it is a case of suicide. His parents have left for Vadodara. According to Santosh's classmates, he suffered from Epilepsy."

Santosh's relative Shatrughan said, "He was a bright student and scored 60% in his last attempt at the exams. He was also pursuing the CA foundation course along with his graduation. He generally sleeps on the terrace in summers, but when I didn't see him till 10.30 am, I enquired about him, but later I received the unfortunate message."

When asked 108 ambulance officials about the delay, the authorities said that they received a call at 11am and reached the spot within 10 minutes. The Sayaji gunj police have started further investigations in the regard.
