Manipal University to hold common entrance test in Dubai

Manipal University has decided to hold a common entrance test (CET) in Dubai this academic year. This would be the first time for a South India-based university to conduct the CET abroad.

“Dubai will be the first overseas exam centre to be introduced this year. This will enable students from nearby countries to take the exams, instead of coming to India,” said GK Prabhu, registrar, Manipal University.

The online entrance test would also be conducted in 30 cities across India. The counselling for the same will be held in Bangalore, Jaipur, Manipal, and Sikkim. “Seat allotments will be based on the marks secured in the Manipal University Online Entrance Test, 2012,” he said. Twelve new courses will be introduced. “That takes the total number of courses in the University up to 338 in 15 streams,” Prabhu said.
