For every student, after completing X and XII board exams, choosing the right career could be quite a task. Taking the decision of picking a lucrative and satisfying career path and then finding out from where to pursue a course is very important.     
With globalisation, new emerging career options are booming in India. Besides MBA, medical, engineering and computer streams, there are many emerging job options that are fast growing as the top-paying careers. To pick the right one from the emerging lot, experts from the respective fields help you in considering the ideal factors.     

Animation & visual effects (VFX)
Highlighting the need to train a new breed of artists in the animation and VFX industry, Jesh Krishna Murthy, CEO of Anibrain Studio in Pune, who has worked on many Hollywood projects, said, “A talented visual effects artist is in demand as their work is critical to make high-end TV commercials and feature films. With a high demand for qualified artists, this sector is a very lucrative opportunity for anyone whose skills can add real value to an organisation.” He further informed that there has been a growing need of talent for VFX artists due to rapidly increasing usage of VFX in Hollywood and Indian film industry. The students who have studied animation and VFX are finding great opportunities in India.

The animation and VFX industry use complimentary skill sets. Murthy said, “Animation is about creating a make-believe world from the scratch and VFX helps to integrate computer generated images into real-world images” he added. It is a creative industry and an artist’s strength lies in his imagination, Murthy said. He further informed that they are sitting on the tip of the iceberg and there are immense opportunities in this field in the near future.     

Finance & Accounting
The future of accounting and financial practices in India is bound to change with the global requirement. Vandana Poria, chief
executive officer of Get Through Guides, a professional training institute specialising in finance, management, and accounting in Pune, said, “Thanks to globalisation, businesses are not restricted to just a single geographical area and so the international financial reporting standards are soon becoming statutory requirements in many countries. Not only MNCs(multinational company) are coming to India, but Indian companies are also going global.”

Stressing that students looking to pursue a career in accounts and finance need specialised training and skills in the field, Poria said, “An international qualification to student’s repertoire is a major advantage, qualifying them to work in multinational banks and global organisations. It is important for students to be ready for real-life work and global reach.” She also added that to further their skill-sets and employability, students must focus on doing an industry recognised course, like the association of chartered certified accountants (ACCA) course, which is being offered by Get Through Guides.

Sports Management
The sports industry in India is developing very fast, opening up various job opportunities. Director of Success Academy’s Institute of Sports Science and Technology (ISST) Pune, Vipul Lunawat, said, “It has become vital to have competent and specialised sports administrators and managers, to efficiently manage all aspects of the sports industry. It has become important to integrate managerial skills within  the sports world with a
scientific approach.”    

As more international and national sports events are taking place in India, Lunawat said sports infrastructure is being developed all over the country. “Sports clubs, resorts, gymnasiums and event management companies are booming everywhere. The IT and various multinational companies are getting involved with sports and fitness. Besides cricket, volleyball, golf and motor sports, various adventure sports and fitness industry are gaining popularity through out the country. In a nutshell, everything is
related to sports,” he said.      

Language Translator
India is now accessible to foreign countries and the world has also opened up to globally aspiring Indian companies, said Sandeep Nulkar, chairman and MD of BITS, a Pune-based professional translation company. “This has opened doors to opportunities in the translation industry and an unexplored avenue in translation of Indian languages. Translation of our literary works in regional languages is in great demand in the global market.”  
Choosing translation as a career, Nulkar informed that many aspiring students are learning a new language to enhance their career prospects. He said that translation field is for everyone and not limited to language learners only.

Talking about the role of a translator, Nulkar said, “In written format, one must adhere to a style because it becomes a form of communication in absence of a communicator. This is where the role of a translator fits in. The translator has to understand the context, domain and technology keeping in mind the end reader while translating. Translation is a non-specific skill, which is not only about knowing the language.”
