Led Zeppelica leads Chaos at IIM Ahmedabad

Tribute band Led Zeppelica performed at IIMA Chaos yesterday as the headlining act of the Rock Nite. Led Zepplica has dedicated its life to reproducing the magic of rock 'n' roll legends Led Zeppelin, believed to be one of the greatest rock bands of the 70s. It has been touted by critics to be the next best thing to watching Led Zeppelin live, and by some to be even better.

Inspired by the madness, the music and the mayhem, the four musicians - Joe Vetta (vocals), Lenny Mann (guitars), Stan Taylor (base) and Darryl Johnson (drums), got together to make a replica of the platinum selling band.

Led Zeppelica has been performing since 1989 and according to its guitarist Lenny, "Just as after Bach and Beethoven died, it was up to the orchestra conductors to carry forward their music to the next generation, we believe we are the torchbearers bringing to life the vibe of Zeppelin for the new generation." This is the fourth performance of the band in India. Having previously performed in Chennai, Kharagpur and Bangalore, they have geared up with an arsenal of classic hits by Led Zeppelin and coupled them with the lesser known B-sides.

When asked why they chose Led Zeppelin to dedicate their music and life to, drummer Darryl quickly responded, "The true test of art is how it stands against time and Led Zeppelin, after 40 years, is still winning hearts and changing lives. They are undoubtedly the Masters and we believe it is an honour to keep their legacy alive."
