Internal exams begin for Std X

City schools have started conducting practical and oral exams for Std X from this week as the state board has given them time from February 10 to February 26 to complete the procedure.

For board students, viva, oral and practical exams are a ticket to scoring high as the teachers give good internal marks.

“I have my English viva on Wednesday where we have a scope to score full marks,” said Mohnish Kundan, a student from a school in Goregaon.

Deepali Wadia, another student, is assured that she will get full marks in her science and maths internal exams. “Our teacher trained us well and gave us pointers on how to get a full score,” she said.

Rekha Vijaykar, principal of Guru Harkrishna High School, Santa Cruz, said, “For students, knowing that they can score full marks is a big motivation.”

The internal assessment at Indian Education Society’s Manik Vidya Mandir, Bandra, is starting from Tuesday. “We intend to finish the assessments in a week,” said principal Shubhada Vinekar.
