IIPM makes record 10,000 placements in five years

In the past five years, IIPM has placed more than 10,000 students in over 1,500 companies. All the students were selected on campus.

IIPM makes record 10,000 placements in five years

The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) has taken India Inc by storm. In the industry for over 37 years, it has set new benchmarks in B-School placements.

In the past five years, IIPM has placed more than 10,000 students in over 1,500 companies. All the students were selected on campus. In the past three years, IIPM says, more than 250 students got placed internationally. 

IIPM, Delhi, has had most global placements in India in the past two years. In 2008 and 2009, it says, 165 and 55 students were placed globally.

IIPM also has had  a 100% consistent placement record since 2006.

With the recession over, companies are seeking fresh go-getters to put their businesses back on fast track. This year, IIPM is said to have witnessed 2,480 on-campus hirings. The remaining 140 students are also likely to get placed soon. 

BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) corporations, the biggest on-campus recruiters, had vanished from campuses in 2009. But now, they are back with at least 20% placement offers.
IIPM says leading BFSI companies such as Standard Chartered, HDFC Bank, HSBC, Fidelity, Barclays, India Bulls and India Infoline, and financial consulting companies such as KPMG (Delhi), Goldman Sachs and E&Y have offered financial/business research profiles to its students.

ICICI recruited 320 students this year and visited all IIPM campuses; Yes Bank, this year’s largest recruiter at IIM campuses, also paid IIPM, Delhi, a visit.

According to IIPM, FMCG leaders such as Colgate-Palmolive and leading consumer durables brands such as Whirlpool have also offered opportunities to its students. Other visitors to IIPM campuses included UB Group, Zee Enterprises, Business Octane and JDA Soft. They offered packages upwards of Rs7.5 lakh per annum.

IIPM student Amiya Ranjan was offered a domestic package of Rs20 lakh per annum. Average all-India packages this year have been Rs4.63 lakh so far. The institute says 37 of its students have been placed globally this year. International recruiters included companies in the fields of travel & logistics, media, advertising, FMCG and manufacturing.
