The Association of Indian Students Abroad (AISA), a brainchild of an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)
has taken its welfare initiative a step forward - it has also launched a monthly newsletter now. The aim behind the move is to inform and help students intending to pursue higher education abroad with an overall idea of opportunities available in various countries.

While AISA was launched on August 15, 2010, the students' association launched its newsletter on Sunday. The content of the newsletter is mostly contributed by eminent people and students studying abroad.

Talking about the idea of the newsletter, Siddhartha Priya founder and president of the association and IIMA graduate of 2009, said, "The news letter will throw light on the quality and trend of education and opportunities offered in various countries, through students who are already residing there or have been there.  It will also bring to light the lesser known education destinations, which are less expensive but offer good opportunities."

He said, "Our aim is to not only furnish the aspiring students with such information but also support them actively."

The different issues of the news letter will focus on different countries. The first issue of the newsletter that was launched contains topics like 'Indians Abroad; A historical perspective' written by honorary consul of India to Queensland, Sarva Daman Singh; 'why should one go abroad to study' written by commissioner and secretary of Science & Technology at government of Assam Dr Prem Saran;  'Life of Indian Students in the UK and US' written by Sohan Shah a student of the medical school at the university of Liverpool, and  Dhruvin Dave who is studying at William Paterson State University of New Jersey and so on. The link to the newsletter has been uploaded at http://www.aisaglobal.org/
