iDiscoveri to renew education

Alumni of Harvard University, Indian Institute of Management and Xaviers Labour Relations Institute have teamed up set up iDiscoveri, a social enterprise with a mission to renew education in India and beyond.

“Due to lack of infrastructure and to cater to individual capabilities, we introduced XSEED—an experiential teaching tool used by teachers for subjects like English, Maths, Science and Social Science,” said Shweta Arora, school division head, iDiscoveri. The XSEED curriculum targets students from pre-primary to class VI from all boards of education. It takes inspiration from the one followed in Singapore and can be tailored to the requirement of the respective board .

It emphasises interactivity in class and develops a sense of active learning among students. Schools are provided with a detailed guide that has a description of the learning process. “In case of a Science experiment students are given the objective behind their learning and then asked to predict what they would infer from the same. This leads to active class participation,” explained Arora.

Workbooks are used as an assessment tool to gauge whether the child has understood the topic taught in class.
