This year the council has announced the results two days in advance. Gerry Arathoon, additional secretary and CEO of the council, said, “This year the centralised marking system helped in speeding up the evaluation process. Also, we discontinued the use of postal services. Courier and speed post were used for transportation of answer sheets. We avoided unnecessary delays caused in the transit of papers.”

He added that the centralised marking has proved to be a very useful system. “It has helped students to get the marks they deserve. Examiners were comfortable with checking the papers because they could sort out their concerns amongst each other instead of writing to the council,” he said.
