Gujarat University to host international meet on diaspora

To provide a platform to share experiences in different areas, Gujarat University (GU) is all set to host an international conference on 'Indian Diaspora'. The two-day event will be held on January 12 and 13 at the varsity's convention hall.

Vice-chancellor (V-C) Dr Parimal Trivedi said that the meet is hosted in partnership with the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) in the USA. The organisation's founder-president Dr Thomas Abraham and international academic chairperson Dr Jagat Motwani will be present at the event. GOPIO additional secretary for external affairs, JC Sharma, will attend the event.  

Trivedi said around 40 experts from across the globe are expected to attend, in addition to the over 200 chosen participants. "It will feature discussions on subjects like communications, finance, banking and infrastructure as well as research during the brainstorming sessions," he said.
