Gujarat Technological University students protest 'unfair' ATKT rule

More than 150 third-semester engineering students from across the state gathered in the city on Monday to protest against the Gujarat Technological University's (GTU) decision not to allow students with four ATKTs to take admission in the next semester.

The students are being supported in their agitation by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members. They protested on the GTU campus and demanded that they be taken to meet the vice-chancellor.

A recent circular issued by the GTU management said that second semester students with four ATKTs in their previous exams, would not be allowed to take admission in the next semester.

"We should have been informed about this before our exams," said Chintan Leuva, a student. "Then we would have been prepared for this,” he said.
