Groups of college boys fight over girl

A complaint of supposed 'abduction' had the Sola police scratching their heads in puzzlement. The case, involving two groups of boy students of RC Technical College, initially appeared an attempt of abduction, and later turned out to be a lover story involving two boys and a girl of the same college.

According to the police, one Kirtan Patel, a student of the said college and a resident of Chankyapuri, lodged an FIR stating that he was attacked and kidnapped by one Dhruv Patel, a fellow student.

Kirtan reportedly stated in his complaint that he was approached by Dhruv and one of his friends on Sola Road. He was then allegedly taken to an unidentified place by force, and severely beaten by Dhruv's gang.

The twist in the tale came when Dhruv also turned up at the police station, and lodged an FIR against complainant Kirtan. Dhruv, on his part, stated that Kirtan and his friends thrashed him severely and looted his gold chain worth Rs20,000 and Rs1,500 in cash.

"Apparently, the tussle is over a girl called Aneri (name changed), who studies in the same college as the two boys. We can't be sure, but it seems the girl is in love with one of the two, which is why the other is unhappy. We are looking into the matter and will sort it out soon," said a police official.
