Industrial visits to understand industry requirements, its working and fulfilment also form an intrinsic part of academic training. On the non-academic front, screening of thought provoking movies, book reviews and yoga workshops help shaping students personality.

At VSIT, special emphasis on development of soft skills is given to enhance employability and industry-readiness.

As Vishwas Deshpande, managing trustee, Vidyalankar Dnyanpeeth Trust says, "Along with core competency, VSIT contributes towards the holistic development of students and prepares them for life. Students undergo a soft skills training program conducted by experts of the Dale Carnegie Institute.

"The institute also conducts counselling sessions in the pre-final year to help students choose a good institution while applying abroad for higher studies or for jobs. All these activities have been designed to make our students sure-footed and groom them into global citizens."

Students have access to a range of co-curricular activities including an annual cultural and sports festival, dance workshops, debates and drama. The institute's 'Friday Paathshala' initiative, which attracts students to the amphitheatre to participate in dance workshops, movie screening and music programmes every Friday has won a silver medal in the 'College Contact Programme of the Year' category at the first WOW Event and Experiential Awards.

Students of VSIT have had enriching experiences and have done exceedingly well for themselves.

I am indebted to the staff for their efforts in making the collaboration between VIIE and Sheffield Hallam University and enabling me to take up the 2:1 Bachelors degree with honours in Software Development," says Ishan Soni, who has completed the program and has been offered full time job opportunities at London.

A graduate from Penn State, our student Shantanu Rajadhyakshya says, "Spending two years at VSIT opened a whole new world to me. Here at Vidyalankar success is defined not only on one's test grades but also through one's overall development. I have had the pleasure of being taught by exceptional faculty. I understood the importance of working hard to achieve success. The individual attention and mentoring by VSIT faculty made me confident enough to excel amongst the other international students at Penn State."

As students conquer new frontiers, VSIT takes pride in their achievements and continues to nurture young talent to soar to the skies and create their place under the sun.
