Eduscope: Students seek expert advice

The commonly-held stand of  students was that they were pretty sure of their career paths, but wanted a second opinion from the scholars and stalwarts of various fields. Take the case of young Akash Mehta, a student of K.J.Somaiya, who has just completed standard 12th under the commerce stream. He says, “I was thinking of doing BCom in Accounts and Finance, but I wanted to know about other available courses.”

Krupa Vora, a standard 12th student of Balbharti College, said, “I am interested in computers and do pretty well in theory-based subjects too. I am confused between pursuing CFA and CS.” After the aptitude test and career counseling sessions, most of the students had zeroed in on their career choice.

The fair was focused mainly on career after 10+2, but dozens of students who appeared in the SSC exams held last month also came to the venue hoping that counselors would be able to shed some light on their concerns and queries.

The two-day education fair EduScope organised by DNA for students to make better informed career choices had a great footfall on Saturday. The fair will end on May 6. Students can get an aptitude test done for Rs500 and a free counselling session will also be provided after the test.
