Cultural fest Symbhav had it all — music & a touch of Bollywood

Our annual cultural fest, Symbhav, started on a humble note in February 2009. In a short span, it managed to receive an overwhelming response not only from students in Pune, but also from those across the country. In its third edition this year, Symbhav is a much bigger, better and more knowledgeable affair.

It provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents and it was the perfect arena for interaction among the youth for better global understanding.

‘Symbhav 11’ started off with the inaugural ceremony on Friday. Present on the occasion were chancellor of Symbiosis International University (SIU) SB Mujumdar; vice chancellor of SIU, MS Raste; principal-director of SIU, Vidya Yeravdekar and director of Symbiosis Law School, Shashikala Gurpur.
Our college had the privilege of playing host to eminent

personalities, including actor Shatrughan Sinha, film producer Pahlaj Nihalani and our very own professor emeritus Ram Jethmalani, who is a senior advocate in the Supreme Court.

The first two days were a powerful blend of education, culture, humour and talent. The band, Junkyard Groove, performed on Day One while Sivamani, the internationally acclaimed percussionist from Chennai, enthralled all on Day Two. His performance saw a sell-out crowd bringing traffic leading to the campus to a standstill, quite literally!

Day Three of the fest was easily the most anticipated one as the final rounds of most events were lined up. The valedictory ceremony held at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies in Khadki also had a taste of Bollywood with yesteryear actress Sridevi and film producer-director Boney Kapoor as the chief guests.

The extravagant pro nite at Raga Lawns, Koregaon Park, saw electrifying performances by popular Delhi-based band Them Clones, electronic techno-trance band Jaleebli Cartel and electronic sitar ace Niladri Kumar.
