CLAT-2009 is a smooth affair
The Common Law Admission Test-2009 (CLAT) was conducted in 16 cities across India successfully and 765 students from the state appeared for the examination at the National Law School of India University in Bangalore.

Overall 13,588 applicants took the examination for the undergraduate course  and at least 1,000 students appeared for the postgraduation entrance test. This year, CLAT saw the maximum number of students appearing for the exam from Delhi, the figures being about 3,400.

This year, questions testing students’ legal aptitude were more focused on general knowledge about law; there were no questions on Legal Reasoning in the test for entrance to the undergraduate course. This made many students happy as they felt that this gave them more time to revise the paper.

“On the whole, the paper was quite easy, barring few difficult sections,” says Sushen B Ragavendra, a law aspirant. He added, “However, for some questions, the options for answer given were quite close. So we had a tough time in choosing a right answer.
Another candidate, Ajay KR said, “English was comparatively easier than last year.

While the papers testing general knowledge and aptitude were moderate.”
This year there has been a rise of 20-25% in the number of students who took the examination.
