CET was tough, say students

Several students who took the state’s common entrance test (CET) for admissions to B-schools have claimed that the paper was tough and lengthier as compared to the last year. According to experts, the change of the structure of the questions sets might bring down the cut-offs in colleges.

Vinayak Kudva, of the IMS Learning Resources private limited, said, “There were more questions on critical reasoning and general verbal reasoning. In the analytical reasoning set, instead of four to five questions in the previous years, there were eight to ten questions, which might have put off the students.”

SK Mahajan of technical education, in Maharashtra, said, “The turnout in the 200 centres in the state is 97.66%. A total of 92,167 appeared for the test.” There is a slight drop in the numbers of students who took the test as compared to last year’s 1.05 lakhs of students. All management institutions in the state accept CET scores.
