Cept launches forum for art and literature

Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University in association with Gujarati Sahitya Parishad (GSP), will launch a unique forum called Paraspar on Friday to provide an opportunity for like minded individuals to discuss literature and art.

Secretary of GSP, Rajendra Patel said, “Of late we have felt a need to have a forum wherein interested individuals called rasikas could come together and talk about a particular form of literature and art. Anybody can be a part of the forum and can participate in the  discussions.” The forum will be held on the last Friday of every month at 6pm at CEPT.

Sharmila Sagara, one of the coordinators of the programme said that youth tend to forget about art and literature once they are done with their studies. “The academics are not taken forward for public discussions and we feel this eventually leads to the death of literature and art forms,” she said.

Sanskrit, English, Medieval, Modern and even contemporary form of literature will be discussed in the forum. The coordinators also intend to include various dance forms for discussion.

Paraspar’s first baithak on Abhigyan Shakuntalam will be held on Friday at 6pm at CEPT. Dr Avadheshkumar Singh will be the speaker at the forum.
