Be a campus ambassador

Here’s a chance for youngsters to be social change-makers. An initiative to encourage college students to try their hands at social innovation and entrepreneurship – the Campus Ambassador programme – is inviting applications from bright students who are keen to make a difference in the world we live in.

This programme is open to students from all colleges in the country. Among them, 30 of the best applicants would be chosen for a one-day intensive boot-on social innovation. Experts in the field like Ramakrishna NK, co-founder and CEO of rangde.org, Sameer Segal, founder and CEO of artoo.in, Satish Kataria, managing director of Springboard Ventures, Rikin Gandhi, CEO of Digital Green and Shabnam Aggarwal, co-founder of MILLEE and founder of te|a|ch:tech to teach would be speaking at the camp, sharing their stories and expertise. The plan is to provide the students “with a platform where they can interact with each other and mentors, bounce ideas, build upon them and create successful, scalable and sustainable social ventures,” says Chandan Raj, software professional-cum-social entrepreneur who designed the programme.

Raj and Dharmesh Porwal – another software professional-cum-social consultant – runs a for-social-profit (FSP) initiative called ThoughtBerg that aims to launch various innovative and collaborative initiatives to address different social issues.

“Campus Ambassador program is our first major initiative under ThoughtBerg,” Raj says. StartingBloc and several other social enterprises are partnering with them in this venture.

Selected students would be provided adequate support to start their own social initiatives inside their college campuses. For more details, log on to http://ambassadors.thoughtberg.org/
