The Nirmiti Art Circle of Nowrosjee Wadia College organised their annual event ‘Melange 2011’, an evening of music, theatre acts and dance, on September 5 on their college campus in Pune. 

The event started with a chorus song sung by a band of 50 student singers, followed by singing, theatre acts and dance choreography by other students. 

MLA from Pune Cantonment assembly, Ramesh Bagwe, was present on the occasion along with Marathi film -maker, Prashant Surve and other dignitaries.  

A romantic play Images in the Rain was appreciated by the young crowd, touching upon the topic of true love and intensity of relationship.

The play was synchronised with slides of beautiful Himachal Pradesh landscapes, mesmerising the audience. “It was a very profound play, which gave me an insight into the working of the theatre and inspired me to be an integral part of it,” said Smriti Singh, a second year BA student, who spoke about her experience on acting in the play.

Meanwhile, Surve, spoke about his upcoming movie Pipaani. This was followed by captivating Lavani performance by 6-year-old girl, Shweta Singh. The cultural evening reached its climax, with spontaneous performances by students.
