According to the University of Pune, 5,990 candidates will appear for the maiden online PhD entrance examination being conducted across 61 centres in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts.

According to the University of Pune, 5,990 candidates will appear for the maiden online PhD entrance examination being conducted across 61 centres in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts.

The first two stages of the three-stage admission process involve written papers, while interviews by departmental heads is the final stage. The online entrance for paper I takes place on Saturday. MPhil and Net/Set qualified candidates are exempt.

The entrance test has been made mandatory for PhD aspirants from 2009-10. “The paper will last for 2 hours and have 100 multiple choice questions. The paper would start sharp at 11 am, but candidates are to reach the allotted exam centres by 10.30 am,” said Sanjay Chahande, acting vice-chancellor of UoP.
Candidates would have to confirm attendance and choose the language of instruction (English or Marathi). Both hall tickets and identity cards are compulsory for
candidates.
