The Darvaza Gas Crater, also known as the "Door to Hell," is situated in the Karakum Desert of Turkmenistan.

It was accidentally created in 1971 when a Soviet drilling rig collapsed into a cavern filled with natural gas.

The crater emits flames continuously, burning brightly against the desert landscape, giving it an otherworldly appearance.

Despite its remote location and harsh environment, the Darvaza Gas Crater has become a popular tourist destination.

Due to the high temperatures and presence of toxic gases, visitors are advised to exercise caution when approaching the crater.

Scientists study the crater to understand its geological processes and the behaviour of natural gas deposits.

There have been debates about whether to extinguish the flames to mitigate environmental impact or to preserve the crater as a unique natural phenomenon and tourist attraction.
