Varnika Srivastava

During times when Hindu kingdoms and the Mughal Empire in India were in political alliance, it was not unusual for Hindu kings to wed Mughal princesses.

Marriages between Hindus and Mughals frequently resulted in cultural exchanges that influenced art, architecture, and gastronomy.

Power dynamics changed as a result of internal strife within the Mughal Empire or among the Hindu kingdoms, which occasionally threatened these alliances.

Here are a few Hindu kings who married Mughal princesses.

Hindu king, Maharaja Amar Singh married Mughal princess Khanum, daughter of Emperor Akbar.

The son of Raja Mansingh is said to have married a Muslim princess, Marium, the daughter of the Afghan Nawab of Orissa.

Rana Sanga of Mewar married the daughter of a Muslim commander.
