To strengthen their rule, some Mughal rulers married their daughters to Hindu kings and rulers across the subcontinent.

Raja Man Singh is known as the son-in-law of Mughal emperor Akbar as he married his niece, Mubarak Begum.

Mubarak Begum was not the real niece of Akbar, as she was the daughter of Adham Khan.

Adham Khan was a general of Akbar. He was the younger son of Maham Anga, and thus, was the foster brother of Akbar.

Notably, Raja Man Singh was one of Akbar's boon companions, who was a member of the circle the Nauratan.

Akbar treated him like a son, and hence he later married him to Mubarak Begum.
