IPL 2024: Teams to play opening fixture most times in tournament's history

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 schedule on Thursday.

The schedule was announced on Thursday only for the first 21 matches. The fixtures for the remaining games will be announced in due course.

The first match of the season will be played between CSK and RCB.

The Chennai Super Kings are the team that has played the most opening matches in the IPL. They are gearing up to play the opening match of the season for 9th time.

The Mumbai Indians team is placed at number two in the list.

Mumbai Indians has participated in the tournament opener 8 times.

The list includes KKR at number three. KKR has participated in the IPL opener six times.

Royal Challengers Bangalore currently holds the fourth position on this list.

RCB has participated in the tournament opener 4 times.
