In 2023, Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from the Indian team. His exclusion was anticipated, and his absence from the list came as no surprise.

Cheteshwar Pujara returned to Test cricket in 2022, only to lose his place a year later. Despite an impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy, he was not given contract.

Deepak Hooda was unable to maintain his position in Team India for an extended period, leading to his exclusion from the central contract list.

Yuzvendra Chahal was omitted from Team India's roster for the 2023 World Cup as the selectors opted not to offer a contract to the sidelined spinner.

Umesh Yadav was omitted from the Team India roster following the conclusion of the 2023 WTC final and has not been reinstated since.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has recently been awarded his first BCCI contract by the governing body. The talented left-handed batsman has been granted a Grade B contract.
