Batters with more than 1000 runs in T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli is the record holder for the most runs in T20 World Cup history.

 Across 25 innings in 27 matches, he amassed an impressive total of 1141 runs while representing India.

Kohli's stellar performances saw him clinch the highest run-scorer title in both the 2014 (319 runs) and 2022 (296 runs) editions of the T20 World Cup.

Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene made history as the first batter to achieve 1000 runs in T20 World Cup matches. 

Over 31 matches, he accumulated 1016 runs for Sri Lanka.

In 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup, Jayawardene showcased his prowess by emerging as the highest run-getter, scoring an impressive 302 runs in six matches

Mahela Jayawardene played a crucial role in Sri Lanka's T20 World Cup victory in 2014, contributing to the team's success in clinching the prestigious title.
