Foods to avoid with high blood pressure

High blood pressure raises the chances of a heart attack, stroke, and other major health issues.

A BP reading of 130/80 mm Hg or greater is generally regarded as hypertension. Check foods to avoid with high BP:

Caffeine: It is present in several drinks like soda, tea, coffee and sports drinks. It raises BP and should be avoided with hypertension.

Fried foods: They are high in salt and saturated fat. Hence, If you have high blood pressure (BP), avoid them.

Junk food: They are prepared mostly fried or cooked in fat-heavy oils. Hence, such foods should be avoided.

Salt: It's important to watch your salt (sodium) intake if you have high BP.

Sugar: One should cut down on sugar to manage high blood pressure.

Alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption can raise blood pressure.

Saturated, trans fat: This fat is bad for your body. Avoid foods that are high in bad fat.
