Foods that can age your skin faster

There is a saying 'You are what you eat'. Hence, it is important to know what you should avoid eating.

Certain foods can contribute to the ageing of skin or fasten it. Check list here:

Alcohol: Heavy alcohol consumption can dehydrate your skin which leads to dryness and fine lines.

Saturated and trans fats: These are bad fats which can promote inflammation and damage the skin’s natural barrier.

High-sugar foods:  Eating excessive sugar contributes to the formation of collagen-damaging AGEs.

Fried foods: Such foods have unhealthy fats and high sodium, which can lead to inflammation in body. Hence, it can fasten skin ageing.

Caffeine: Excessive intake can lead to dehydration, which can result in dry and aged-looking skin.

Processed meats: Bacon, sausages and other such foods contain advanced glycation end products (AGEs). These can fasten skin ageing.
