6 Indian cities where non-veg food is banned

India has reportedly 40 per cent of the vegetarian population.

Here are 6 cities where non-vegetarian food is not allowed:

Varanasi (UP) - The city in eastern UP is believed to be built by Lord Shiva. It offers various vegan and vegetarian foods.

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) - This is one of the holiest cities of India where the holy river Ganga flows. You can only find veg foods here.

Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) - Non-veg food is prohibited in the city of Dev Bhoomi state.

Ayodhya (UP) - The city holds religious importance as it is the birthplace of Lord Rama. Hence, non-vegetarian food is not allowed here.

Palitana (Gujarat) - Non-vegetarian food is completely banned in the city.

Vrindavan (UP) - Located in Mathura district, one cannot find any non-vegetarian food here.
