Know the selection process of Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid

Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari is going to declare his son Syed Usama Shaban Bukhari as his successor on February 25.
It has been a tradition that the Shahi Imam announces his successor during his lifetime.
After this ritual of Dastarbandi, Shaban Bukhari Shahi will be prepared to assume the post of Imam.
However, even after the coronation, Syed Abdul Ghafoor Bukhari will continue to handle his responsibilities as the Shahi Imam.
But, in the future, in case of Ahmed Bukhari's health or due to any other reason he faces difficulties in fulfilling this responsibility, then Shaban Bukhari will directly take over as the Shahi Imam.
In the Dastarbandi ritual, the Shahi Imam himself will tie the Shahi Imam's turban to the Naib Imam i.e. Shaban Bukhari.
Shaban Bukhari will become the fourteenth Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid.
The royal Imamat of the historic Jama Masjid is still in the hands of the same family for 400 years.
Earlier, Shaban Bukhari was made the Naib Imam of Jama Masjid in the year 2014.
