VIRAL video: Elephants destroy banana plantation in Tamil Nadu, leave one with bird’s nest unharmed
The incident happened in Sathyamangala, a town in Erode district when five wild elephants entered the town after leaving the Vilamundi Forest.
Elephants are known to be sensitive creatures and this story is proof of the same. In a video that is going viral on the Internet, a herd of elephants is seen destroying a banana plantation in Tamil Nadu, only to leave behind one tree which housed a bird's nest with 4 to 5 hatchlings.
The heartwarming video, which was uploaded on YouTube by Thanthi TV on May 7, has won the heart of people. The incident happened in Tamil Nadu's Sathyamangala, a town in Erode district, when five wild elephants entered the town after leaving the Vilamundi Forest, local Thanthi TV reported. According to the reports, the elephants entered the garden of a man identified as Krishnasamy and damaged more than 300 banana trees.

When Krishnasamy went to take stock of the damages, he was surprised to see how a tree with the nest was left unharmed. Netizens praised this act and remarked that elephants have much more empathy than humans and that they understand co-existence.
