NASA brings to life half-century-old 'Earthrise' photographs taken from the Moon
NASA took first snapshots ever taken of Earth from the Moon and with the help of recent data collected by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, recreated a video simulation of our blue planet rising on the Moon. This breathtaking video is accompanied by an audio description of the event that was recorded by the Apollo 8 crew members (also the original photographers) Commander Frank Borman, William A Anders and James A Lovell, Jr on December 24, 1968. The video relives one of the early moments of human space exploration and is a complete visual delight. To space and science fanatics, it comes as an early Christmas gift from NASA.
