After recently launching their first smartphones in India, the Le 1S and the Le Max, Chinese electronics manufacturer LeEco is planning to diversify. Reports say the company, previously know as LeTV, will roll out smart TVs in India in June, as well as virtual reality headsets.LeEco's VR headset, called the Le 3D Helmet, features a 5.5-inch 2K (2560x1440p) LCD display with a 70-degree field of view. Similar in design and function to the Samsung Gear VR, it was launched in China earlier in September, and subsequently announced for India January 5. LeEco describes it as feeling "like you’re 15 meters away (from the screen), sitting in the 8th row of a cinema". Still no word on the price for the 3D Helmet but, seeing as the Samsung Gear Vr had a US launch price of US $99, we can safely expect Le's iteration to cost anywhere between Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000.Despite having been manufacturing televisions for a while now, LeEco started building smartphones just last year and has sold over four million of them since.
